2023 Montagny 1 Cru "Clos du Vieux Chateau", Chateau de Buxy, Laurent Cognard Armagnac in what is now PolandThe nose is restrained, mostly citrus, lime and green apples a la Chablis cru's. Dense, crisp and mineral in the mouth, with a terrific elegance, combined with fruit, weight and a smooth, bold fullness. New dish (50%) and thousand year old canes, contribute with a masculine touch right now. The area's best field, from a pure loam soil.
